We are excited to be the exclusive London stockist for Darte London, a brand built from a dedication and passion for vintage military and workwear. We love their fastidious approach to detail and quality workmanship, making timeless garments that embody the spirit of a era passed whilst remaining relevant to current trends.
Darte is founded by Edward Stanford and Michael Stampler. Garments are made in-house by the two of us, in our East London studio, as well as some production items made with small manufacturing partners.
Ed is a self-taught artist and illustrator and has worked alongside British menswear designer Nigel Cabourn. Ed has a keen eye for design aesthetic and detail, honed from restoring and repairing vintage garments as well as collecting rare vintage military and workwear for around 15 years.
Mike is a designer and craftsman originating from Pennsylvania USA. Mike was one of a small handful of Americans left still making jeans professionally by hand before moving to London. He has made thousands of garments. His expertise in construction and execution is unrivaled.
Darte release their Volume III collection this summer inspired by sightseeing, camping, sports and roadside attractions throughout America in the 50’s and 60’s. Looking back to experiences of our youth, some of the pieces reflect outdoor enthusiast excursions across small towns and the exploration of wilderness landscapes.
The El Mirage baseball shirt takes it’s name from the famous Dry Lakes of southern California. Known for racing and test driving experimental vehicles. Our Vol I baseball shirt was so well received we have taken the time to develop this piece with a trusted manufacturer and can now offer this beautiful rendition at a greater value to you. This shirt has somehow gotten even better.
