The Hunter Jacket is a function and stylish mid length Jacket. The design combines subtle elements inspired by 50’s hunting, waxed motorcycle and military jackets. We worked with British Millerain, famed for inventing waxed fabrics in 1860, using their innovative Stay Wax. We opted for a heavy weight 10 oz fabric offers waxed protection from the rain without having the greasy feel of traditional waxed cotton. The jacket benefits from never needing re-waxing and is machine washable. An Italian vegetable tanned leather details the elbows and the underside of the collar.

Arms are satin lined with taped seams and a storm cuff of heavy rib seals the jacket from the wind. We re-created the Revolving Shank buttons, a feature found on military jacket of the 30’s, with an Italian company using replica horn. The buttons are not attached to the jacket but go through eyelets in the cloth being held in place by small silver rings. They’re not going to fall off.

We were inspired by hunting jackets and their capacity for carrying things. Two hand warmer pockets overlap two concealed pockets on the front, and an internal poachers pocket wraps around the jacket held in place with heavy duty clips. Two loops on the back of the neck allow for further items to be tied to the jacket.

Hardy enough for adventure and practical for everyday life in the city. The jacket can be worn over amour.

Our heavy weight sweatshirts are made in our own unique 500gsm Tomlinson Loop weave cotton fabric, as they were in the 1950’s. The sweatshirts have an athletic fit with thick ribbed hem and cuffs that hold the sweatshirt in place underneath a jacket. The style is reminiscent of the classic race sweaters of the 1940’s.

The chest features an heavy embroidered logo that we originally created using letterpress print. The garment was dip dyed in Ash Black to create a uniform colour across all elements. We then added a double enzyme wash to break down the cotton for a soft slubby feel and to give the dye a natural fade, for the worn in look.

We used a heavy weight, extra-fine virgin wool, usually the reserve of the finest overcoats for this re-worked version of Type II. Personally I love the contrast between the luxury of the wool and its contemporary, utilitarian design. The jacket is very warm and a perfect buffer against the cold climes. As with all our products, we make clothes to do a job and to last. The quality of these jackets ensures they will continue to look smart, and improve with wear, for years to come.

We wanted to make a smart summer jacket that offered protection from the rain, without looking like a rain jacket. We worked with the StayWax fabric from British Millerain, the world’s first producer of waxed fabrics dating back to 1880 . The innovative Staywax differs from other waxed finishes as it is dry to touch and you do not get that greasy feel common to waxed fabrics. The wax is deeply embedded within the herringbone cotton weave and does not need re-waxing like other wax fabrics, it is even machine washable. This jacket offers a high level of waterproofing and can withstand a substantial down pour.

This technical fabric compliments the classic styling of our Type II which is inspired by an original 1953 pattern. The jacket brings together style elements from denim, leather and Harrington jackets creating something new yet appearing timeless. The jacket is cut to sit on the belt line, has a tailored fit, slim collars and our custom antique brass buttons. We added a Gun / D pocket and a ticket pocket as a nod to the functional features of motorcycle jackets.
