We really wanted to work with Manteco, an Italian family run Mill , having seen the luxurious wools they were producing in Tuscany. Since it begun in 1943 Manteco is reknown for its uses of the finest raw materials and masterful blending to achieve the highest quality wool fabrics.
We used a heavy weight, extra-fine virgin wool, usually the reserve of the finest overcoats for this re-worked version of Type II. Personally I love the contrast between the luxury of the wool and its contemporary, utilitarian design. The jacket is very warm and a perfect buffer against the cold climes. As with all our products, we make clothes to do a job and to last. The quality of these jackets ensures they will continue to look smart, and improve with wear, for years to come.
