The Spirit of 59 / Official Run 2018

On Saturday May the 5th we welcome the Spirit of 59 Club for their first annual run of 2018.   The day will commence with a meet up at the original home of the 59 club, St Mary of Eton Church in Hackney Wick, E9 5JA at 2pm.   At 3pm riders will leave en mass and head over to Bolt where we will have a live performance by Rock and Roll band Jonnie and the Time Bombs, alongside Dj Dynamite Ady.   The Victory Tea Stall will be on site and we will have a licensed bar.

A little bit about the 59 club..

The 59 Club started as a church of England based youth club founded in Hackney Wick on 2 April 1959, then an underprivileged area suffering post-war deprivations.   Welcoming motorcycles into the Club in 1962 it is notable for its adoption of the Rockers.   Father Bill Shergold and Father Graham Hullet welcomed thousands of Motorcyclists to the club over the years and created a positive hang out for motorcyclists who had been shunned elsewhere.  Along with the Ace Cafe, the Fifty Nine club is a defining moment in British motorcycling history and we are excited to welcome many of its original members to Bolt for an Afternoon of music, motorcycles and good times.
